  • City of Puyallup v. Carl R. Hogan v. Borders, Inc. (Represented national bookseller in securing from city and landlord a seven figure apportionment of a condemnation award including fees and costs. Sustained on appeal)
  • Abitibi Consolidated Adv. Commercial Development Company (Represented Canadian public company in federal court action against environmental remediation company claiming breach of purchase contract and damages, securing dismissal of all claims)
  • Shamberger v. Pure Fitness of Washington (Represented manager/partner in securities fraud action achieving favorable settlement for proceeds of sale to third party)
  • Turnbow Trust Litigation (Represented two of three trust beneficiaries in large California trust dispute negotiating settlement prior to arbitration with multiple parties)
  • Joseph Finley v. Bishop of Victoria (Represented developer in state and federal court against claims of fraud and collusion in purchase of large industrial tract. Achieved dismissal of all actions in both courts)
  • Shoen v. Amerco, Inc., Arbitration, Reno, Nevada (Represented shareholder in successful enforcement of registration rights agreement taking public the parent company of U-Haul Truck Rental Company)
  • Zeta Music Systems Inc. v. Gibson Guitar Co., Arbitration, San Francisco, CA (Federal court enforcement action, represented Zeta in an action to rescind merger agreement and recover damages in excess of $1 million for breach of fiduciary duty)
  • Gerry Sportswear Co. v. Amerex USA Inc., Arbitration, New York City (Represented former owner
    of sportswear company in an action for breach of the acquisition and employment agreements by Amerex USA Inc., collecting in excess of $2 million in damages and fees)
  • Labor Ready Inc., Initial Public Offering (Represented Van Kasper Securities, the lead underwriter in this $34 million initial public offering of Labor Ready stock and the listing on NASDAQ’s National Market System)
  • Amerco, Inc., Follow on offering (Represented the selling shareholder in this registration and sale of $10 million of his Amerco stock)
  • Fletcher’s Fine Foods (Represented company in the initial public offering of the stock in both U.S. and Canadian markets)
