SEATTLE (September 3, 2015) –Seattle based law firm Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland announces Derek Crick has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the firm’s Business and Estate Planning groups. Derek joined the firm on September 1, after many years with K&L Gates.
Derek represents clients on business transactions and general corporate matters, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, financings, governance and private equity fund formation and compliance. He also counsels individuals and families with estate and succession planning matters.

Derek graduated from the University of Washington in 1994, and received his degree of Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1998. After law school, Derek received his Master of Laws in Government Procurement from George Washington University in 1999 and his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Washington in 2011.
Derek has been engaged in professional and community affairs throughout his career. He is the immediate past president of the King County Bar Foundation and he is an active member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Derek previously served on the boards of Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations, Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the Pacific Northwest Ski Education Foundation. Derek’s work in the industry, with individuals, and his involvement in the community make him a welcome fit for the Ryan Swanson team.
