For approximately ten years, Adam Doupé has assisted Fortune 500 companies, mid-size and small businesses, non-profit organizations, municipalities, and individuals in resolving civil litigation matters under the most challenging of circumstances. Skilled at all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, trials, and appeals, Adam is fully committed to protecting his clients’ interests from inception of a case through resolution. Adam represents Fortune 500 companies, small business owners, investors, and landlords in various business and real estate litigation matters, including breach of contract cases, lease disputes, business tort cases, partnership disputes, trade secrets litigation, purchase and sale disputes, and unfair business practices claims.
Real estate brokers, mortgage lending companies, and other licensed professionals have trusted Adam to defend their interests before state and federal regulatory bodies. Adam has successfully defended clients against regulatory investigations and disciplinary actions brought by the California Department of Real Estate, California Department of Corporations, and federal agencies.
Adam has represented banks, private equity clients, and investors in workouts of distressed debt, real estate finance disputes, lender liability cases, receivership actions, breach of guaranty cases, and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. On behalf of creditors, Adam is also skilled at enforcing judgments and prosecuting actions to avoid fraudulent transfers. He has also counseled creditors in judicial and non-judicial foreclosures of real and personal property, lien priority disputes, and evictions.
Adam has defended skilled nursing facilities, investors, private equity clients, group homes, and non-profit organizations in litigation arising from claims of medical malpractice, patient suicide, and wrongful death. Adam understands the business concerns of his healthcare clients and is committed to preserving their reputations through the successful resolution of a litigation matter.
Adam has defended property owners, general contractors, piping suppliers, and developers in cases involving claims of construction defect, products liability, soil erosion, mudslides, water intrusion, environmental contamination, and catastrophic personal injuries. Adam has also defended municipalities in cases alleging dangerous conditions of public property. Adam has defended trucking companies, drivers, operators, and railroads in cases alleging catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death.
In addition to his litigation practice, Adam has advised high net worth individuals in asset acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and dispositions. To that end, for high net worth investor clients, Adam has prepared security agreements, operating agreements, promissory notes, and boat mortgages.
Before joining Ryan Swanson, Adam was a litigation associate at major law firms in Los Angeles, California. Adam also served as an extern to the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr., of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
When not working, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, traveling, and hiking.
