Julia Fleming
Navigating clients through the litigation process and developing personalized guidance for employers to prevent disputes.

Julia is an Associate at Ryan Swanson, working primarily in the litigation and employment groups. Julia’s experience varies across practice areas, and she is familiar with assisting clients with real estate, business, employment, corporate, and receivership matters. Julia works on both the litigation and transactional side of matters, so she is competent in working on the front-end of deals and contracts with an eye toward preventing conflicts later on and is well-versed in spotting areas of potential liability. She routinely works with employers to draft employee handbooks, update workplace policies in light of rapidly evolving areas of the law, and advises on ensuring legal compliance across state borders when it comes to hiring in new states and adapting to remote workforces. When conflict cannot be avoided, Julia strives to save businesses time and money by engaging with alternative methods of dispute resolution and documenting settlements.

Hobbies & Interests

Born and raised in Seattle, Julia has a strong connection to the Pacific Northwest that helps her connect with clients and motivates her to work hard to protect the community she calls home. After spending four years in sunny San Diego for college, Julia was excited to return to her roots and family in Washington for law school and life beyond. As the daughter of a local business owner, Julia enjoys engaging with other local businesses to help set them up for long-term success, minimize risk of liability, and reach their goals. When she’s not working, you can catch Julia running half marathons, taking weekend trips to explore new cities and visit friends, or cheering on Seattle sports.
