Matthew B. Audish

Matthew is an Associate at Ryan Swanson working within the firm’s Litigation, Corporate Bankruptcy, Receivership & Finance, and Intellectual Property groups. He maintains a broad, diversified commercial and civil litigation practice. Matthew prioritizes the creation of strong relationships with his clients, and presents complicated legal issues in a straightforward manner. He believes in working collaboratively with his clients to determine logical solutions throughout each step of their representation.

Matthew joined the firm in May 2022 following his graduation from law school in December 2021. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern to Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis of the Washington Supreme Court.


Matthew has represented professionals, business owners, and landlords in various business, employment, and real estate litigation matters including breach of contract cases, lease disputes, business tort cases, purchase and sale disputes, and workers’ compensation claims. He has litigated matters before Washington superior and appellate courts, and federal district courts. He also possesses experience in resolving cases in mediation and arbitration.


Matthew has advised individual and professional fiduciaries in a wide range of trust and estate disputes. Matthew’s clients range from personal representatives to estate beneficiaries, and he strives to protect their interests during and after the administration of probate.


Matthew has served as creditor counsel in complex bankruptcies and state court receivership actions throughout Washington. He has also advised clients on judicial and non-judicial foreclosures of real property and enforcement of judgments.


Matthew has defended businesses, nonprofit entities, and political organizations in numerous trademark disputes. He helps his clients to navigate the trademark registration process, and also advises them on brand maintenance issues and strategies.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys exploring Seattle’s coffee scene, reading presidential biographies, and taking long walks with his dog, Nala. While pursuing his undergraduate education, he was a student manager for the University of Washington Men’s Basketball team. As a native of Los Angeles, California, Matthew is an avid supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers. However, he is very proud to call Seattle his home away from home.
