Legal Assistant
Patricia joined Ryan Swanson in October 2019 as a legal assistant with the firm’s Corporate Bankruptcy, Receivership & Finance department after working in the Seattle legal community for ten years as both a legal assistant and paralegal. A lover of people, details, and numbers, Patricia supports the group by working closely with clients in preparing bankruptcy schedules and proofs of claim, scrutinizing financial records, communicating with the U.S. Trustee analysts, editing pleadings, and staying apprised of the changes to the rules and new case law within the practice area. She is invested in obtaining a win for the clients she works with whether that be the successful resolution of a creditor’s claim in a bankruptcy or receivership or a fresh start for a debtor through the restructuring or discharge of debt.
Although she is the daughter of a long time, local bankruptcy attorney and was exposed to bankruptcy law at a young age, it was not until the Great Recession that Patricia found her passion for working in the practice area. During that time, she assisted attorneys who represented hundreds of consumer and small business debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
Patricia proudly claims Tacoma as her hometown and currently lives in the Seattle area with her daughter. Patricia loves the adventure of being a mom, attending music festivals and concerts, and collecting art from obscure artists. In recent years, Patricia has also enjoyed working as a substitute school teacher and Licensed Massage Therapist.
