Press Release: Ryan Swanson Hires Cason, Dedeaux & Ernst as Associates

SEATTLE (October 18, 2020) – Seattle based law firm Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland, PLLC announces Lindsay Cason, Shanece Dedeaux and Brian Ernst have joined the firm as associates.

Cason, Dedeaux and Ernst each worked as a summer associate with Ryan Swanson in 2019. Cason will join the firm’s Immigration group, while Dedeaux and Ernst will begin their practice with the firm’s Litigation group.

Cason received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and her B.A. from Willamette University. While in law school, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable James L. Robart at the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and as a legal intern at Kids in Need of Defense. She was also a Dean’s Medalist and recipient of the 2018 Justice John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellowship.

Dedeaux earned her J.D. from Seattle University Law School and her B.A. from Central Washington University. While in law school, she served as Vice President of the Legal Advocates Empowering Youth.  She also served as the Attorney General for the Western Region of the National Black Law Students Association. Over the three years in law school, Shanece represented immigrants seeking asylum and youth facing criminal prosecution in the immigration and youth advocacy clinics at Seattle University.

Ernst received his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Puget Sound. While in law school, he served as the Executive Editor at Large for the Seattle University Law Review and as the Vice Chair of the Moot Court Board. He was the winner of the Fredric C. Tausend Moot Court Competition and was chosen by the faculty as a Faculty Trust Scholar for his graduating class.
