Project Description
Sale of Pacific Place Garage.
Our Role
In 2016, Ryan Swanson represented the City of Seattle in its sale of Pacific Place Garage for $87 million. Pacific Place Garage was built in 1996 as part of a groundbreaking redevelopment of downtown Seattle’s Pike/Pine retail core and the City’s agreement to purchase the garage upon completion was crucial to the redevelopment. The City owned Pacific Place Garage for nearly twenty years. The garage was governed by a complex condominium regime and subject to various running covenants designed to keep parking rates competitive and stimulate retail activity downtown. The garage played a critical role in redefining retail in downtown Seattle.
