Zachary Z. Schroeder

Zach is an associate at Ryan Swanson, working primarily within the Business and Estate Planning and Probate groups. Zach focuses on guiding start-ups, growing enterprises, and mature businesses through their legal challenges. His work spans from business formation to funding, and extends to business succession, whether transitioning to the next generation or through an M&A transaction. In addition, he takes pride in working closely with individuals and families to craft clear and comprehensive estate plans, ensuring their legacies are well-protected and thoughtfully organized.

Prior to his legal career, Zach served in the United States Army, where he held various roles, including Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Chief of Current Operations for the Army Public Health Center. Zach describes his time in the Army as humbling, and a true honor to lead soldiers from incredibly diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique perspectives and strengths to the united mission.

Before joining Ryan Swanson, Zach served as a law clerk with the Washington State Office of the Attorney General. Zach spent the subsequent summer with Ryan Swanson as an associate and continued as a law clerk while completing his legal education. During law school, Zach was a member of the Washington Law Review, volunteered in the Federal Tax Clinic assisting low-income taxpayers resolve disputes with the IRS, and was selected as a Global Business Law Fellow.
