Matt is an associate at Ryan Swanson, working primarily within the Real Estate, Development & Finance Group.
Before Matt’s position as an associate, he worked as a summer associate with Ryan Swanson in 2021 and as a law clerk for the firm while he returned to finish law school at Seattle University. While attending Seattle University School of Law, Matt was the Executive Editor of Lead Articles on the Seattle University Law Review, worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Russell Powell, served as the secretary for the Real Estate Law Association, and was a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Association. Additionally, he was a Washington State Scholar and earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Writing, Skills, and Values; Persuasive Writing and Oral Advocacy; Evidence; and Trusts and Estates.
Before his time at Ryan Swanson, Matt worked as a legal extern for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney—Civil Division, where he assisted attorneys in multiple aspects of civil litigation. Prior to attending law school, Matt worked in the sports industry.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys cycling, playing chess, brushing up on his trivia, and traveling with his wife. He played soccer during his four years at Davidson College, where he was the team captain and was awarded MVP during his senior season.
