Matt worked as a summer associate with Ryan Swanson in 2021 before returning to finish law school at Seattle University – He is expected to earn his J.D. in May 2022. Matt is the Executive Editor of Lead Articles on the Seattle University Law Review, serves as the secretary for the Real Estate Law Association, and is a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Association through his university. Additionally, he is a Washington State Scholar and has earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Writing, Skills, and Values; Persuasive Writing and Oral Advocacy; and Evidence.
Before his time at Ryan Swanson, Matt worked as a legal extern for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney—Civil Division where he researched and wrote memoranda on legal issues surrounding 42 U.S.C. § 1983 actions as well as drafted defendants’ motions and briefs, including a motion to consolidate, motion for summary judgment, pretrial statement, and trial brief.
Outside of work, Matt loves to go cycling, play chess, brush up on his geography and history trivia, and travel with his wife. He played soccer at Davidson College where he was the team captain and awarded MVP in 2017.
