Ryan Swanson is very excited to share that the very first E-2 Visa ever issued out of U.S. Embassy in New Zealand was to our clients Katie and Chris, owners of KIWI Shake & Bake, a craft style restaurant in Boise, Idaho that serves authentic New Zealand cuisine including meat pies.
As of June 10, the U.S. Embassy in New Zealand began accepting applications for E-2 treaty trader visas. Treaty Investor (E-2) visas are for citizens of countries with which the United States maintains treaties of commerce and navigation. While the KIWI Act was signed August 1, 2018, it was not until June 10 that the U.S. Embassy was ready to accept applications. Ryan Swanson assisted Katie and Chris in applying before June 10, so they become the first E-2 visas ever issued.
