Good news for visa holders who are nationals of India! Wait times for visa appointments at U.S. Consulates in India have recently dropped to 15 days from the prior wait times of 90-120 days. The Department of State has also instituted a waiver of interviews and drop box program for applicants whose visas have expired less than 12 months ago and are applying for a new visa for the same employer and the same job. In more good news for nationals of India living in the Pacific Northwest, the Department of State has been in negotiations with the Republic of India to open a new U.S. Consulate in India, with the reciprocal placement of an Indian Consulate in Seattle.
Contact our Immigration Group if you have questions regarding whether you qualify for the interview waiver or drop box program.
